Dr. Benjamin Kondraki was an SCP Foundation researcher and former Site Director of Site-17. A polarizing person, Kondraki cared little about the consequences for his dramatic antics, making many rivals, of which the most famous was Alto Clef.
After the messy slaying of SCP-083-D, involving several other SCPs and extreme damage to Site-19, Kondraki was presumably killed for endangering the lives of personnel and other SCPs contained. There are rumors that he survived, either on the run, under deep cover, or simply living a new life.
Biography[]
Early life[]
Benjamin Kondraki was born to Antoni Kondraki and Lucja Kondraki on August 8, 1970. Kondraki had a poor relationship with his family, which caused him to move out after finishing. He then graduated from Columbia University in electrical engineering and biological sciences. He was considered for employment at the SCP Foundation, but the Foundation didn't hire him due to budget cuts at that time. He then went into a relationship with Hugo Manray and was introduced to Are We Cool Yet? and the anomalous world.[2]
Being a Anartist[]
Benjamin Kondraki earned a reputation in the anart community for his expertise in creating anart equipment like anomalous cameras and film, even though his art wasn't that anomalous, with it mainly being wildlife and landscape photography.
Early Foundation career[]
At the age of 35, Benjamin Kondraki was hired at the SCP Foundation as an average researcher without much chance of promotion. He quickly became known for his excellent photography skills, taking pictures around the facility and accompanying agents to document events. Kondraki was promoted to Level 3 clearance after the discovery of SCP-408, becoming the head of research for the anomaly. Stationed until further notice at Site-17, he was commissioned to photograph multiple SCPs that the human eye could not perceive.[4]
SCP-239 Incident[]
In 2008, after Dr. Alto Clef accidentally broadcast his intentions of terminating SCP-239 on an unsecured channel in Site-17, Kondraki was among several staff members that planned to stop Clef before he could carry out his plan; he would then leave his living quarters and entered SCP-408's chamber. 408 would tell him more about Clef's plan, possibly manipulated by 239, before freeing 408 in order to combat Clef.
Kondraki would later engage Clef with SCP-515 alongside three 408 copies, though the group was defeated. He would later uncloak from 408, being wounded in the leg from the encounter. Kondraki would operate a security camera, finding Clef in Hallway F-19 as he infected himself with SCP-091 and caused 408 to lose cohesion. Operator ██████ would get in contact with Kondraki, with Kondraki informing the operator that they should warn Dr. Charles Gears and send help.
Professor Kain Pathos Crow in SCP-244 soon found Kondraki, injecting him with a substance before offering Kondraki alcohol, which was refused before passing out. He would later awaken, his leg healed, entering the living quarters where he found 239 and Dr. Gears, briefly talking. He would then take an anomalous blade out of a tripod Gears was carrying, before engaging Clef once more as he entered the room.
Kondraki fought Clef with the blade, who switched from his handgun to SCP-1023. As the two fought, Gears convinced 239 that she was a witch, and Clef was possessed by a great darkness. She then cast "magic missile," shattering 1023 mid-battle. A dragon then emerged from Clef, which prompted Kondraki to run with the immobile Clef after being briefly stunned by such a sight.
After the incident, Kondraki was awarded a citation of honor for his actions.[5]
Post-incident interview[]
After Incident 239-B, Kondraki interviewed Clef twenty-four hours after the incident concluded. After Clef inquired to his leg, Kondraki retorted how his face, eyes, ears and entire body were. Clef responded that they gave him the SCP-427 temporarily to heal him before it "turn[ed him] into "The Blob".
Silence followed, before Kondraki attempted to piece together what Clef really wanted. Clef briefly fooled Kondraki into thinking he was Lucifer, mentioning Lilith, Eve, and the Apple in the Garden of Eden. He then laughed at how he completely fooled Kondraki, before Kondraki attempted to strangle Clef. The liar kept nagging at Kondraki, telling him that he might not be lying, and that the thought will always be at the back of his head, before Kondraki slammed Clef's head against the corner of the desk nine times, which fractured Clef's skull and snapped his neck.
Clef entered intensive care as a result, with Kondraki cleared of all responsibility.[6]
Termination of Dreamer[]
Later in 2008, Clef requested Kondraki's assistance with the termination of SCP-531. Though reluctant, given that the last time they interacted, it ended up with Kondraki breaking Clef's neck and Clef injuring Kondraki's leg. Ultimately, after briefly reconciling, Kondraki helped Clef eliminate 531 with the use of SCP-408, disguising a glass cell on the Moon as 531's chamber as Clef and 531 were transported there. 408 then replaced Clef, before explosive charges vented the cell into space and killed 531 for good.[7]
Termination of The Impaler's Thumb[]
During that day, someone accidentally put SCP-153 in the same spot with the week's garbage, and Kondraki was just resigned to garbage duty, so he hit the waste disposal button, unknowing that 153 was in the disposal unit. This caused 153 to turn into a pile of black ash and for it to be successfully decommissioned and redesignated as SCP-153-D.[8]
Glass' psychological examination[]
In 2009, Dr. Simon Glass conducted psychological examinations on many Foundation employees, including Dr. Kondraki. Kondraki was instructed to recount his favorite memory, that being of him shooting someone's face off after his quarry stumbled on entrails, with his Class-D accomplice crying. Glass was shocked by this, but continued the examination.
As the examination proceeded, Kondraki began to polish a sword while recounting a story of him engaging in a gunfight with Level 2 researchers over not replacing the filter for a coffee machine in a break room he no longer used. He gave the excuse of no coffee leading to tired researchers, which leads to mistakes being made. Glass asked Kondraki to stop polishing his sword, before Kondraki asked if he could smoke.[9]
Termination of Duke[]
Later in 2009, it was decided by the O5 Council that SCP-083 was to be eliminated due to the danger and extensive resource drain that he presented. Kondraki was chosen to eliminate 083, despite urging from his colleagues. The O5 Council reluctantly accepted after assuaging from the newly-appointed O5-8.
Kondraki entered 083's containment chamber, answering the vampiric entity's questions in an antagonizing manner. Despite being frisked by security, he engaged 083 by splashing a vial of cat urine and garlic on him before firing seven silver bullets from his spare handgun into 083. These did little to stop Duke, as he wasn't a classical vampire depicted in media.
While what exactly happened immediately after is undetermined, as surveillance equipment was destroyed, security teams, including MTF Rho-2 "Hawthorne’s Heroes" were deployed to secure Kondraki and contain 083. 083 pursued Kondraki, though he was briefly disoriented after being blinded by SCP-515 and had his leg severed by the doctor throwing SCP-388 at it; despite this, 083's regeneration skills allowed him to continue attempting to kill Kondraki.
Kondraki rushed past MTF Rho-2, with 083 inadvertently freeing SCP-162 which slaughtered the team. The researcher managed to both grab a Telekill tension cable and put on an anomalous pair of Converse sneakers that boosted his running speed, allowing him to outpace 083 and enter Keter containment. Using SCP-408, Kondraki fooled 083 by feigning his appearance, before appearing behind him and causing stress fractures with an extremely loud megaphone; this freed SCP-682 from his chamber.
Kondraki mocked 083, hoping to frighten him with what he was about to do. 682 then entered the room, engaging in a fight with 083, eventually devouring him. While this was happening, Kondraki appeared upon 682's back, using the tension cable as reins. Despite 682 adapting, and producing bone protrusions to impale Kondraki, he managed to stay on and rode 682 into SCP-173's chamber. Eventually, 682 managed to devour Kondraki as well, which fit right into his plan.
Moments later, Kondraki and 083 managed to escape 682's body, with Kondraki rushing to SCP-298 as it was being transported. He ordered Personnel 1/298/2 to play a Johann Sebastian Bach piece on the organ, which began exsanguinating 083. Ultimately, this would completely drain 083 of blood and kill him, with Kondraki collecting his jellied blood and hollow skull. The termination of 083 caused severe structural and collateral damage to Site-19, as well as many personnel lost. However, it was a success, and SCP-083 was decommissioned.[10]
Post-termination interview[]
Kondraki was interviewed by Dr. ███ regarding the incident. He was asked by the doctor why Kondraki thought 083 had the same vulnerabilities as a classical vampire, to which Kondraki responded that he'd either have a dead 083 or have to think fast, to the interviewer's bewilderment. Kondraki continued, saying he made it up as he went along, retorting that 083 was terminated when ███ said that it was irresponsible.[10]
Supposed death[]
He shot himself.[3]
Alternate realities[]
Yesterday[]
In this reality, Charles Gears never executed Kondraki; though, it was believed that he did. He had Kondraki hide away in a remote cabin, where he stayed for many years. During this time, Kondraki recorded a version of "Shia LaBeouf" by Rob Cantor, where the subject was (now-O5-12) Troy Lament instead. This was to catch Lament off guard in the event he was sent to kill Kondraki, in order to gain information before hogtying Lament and either leave him in the cabin or blow it up with him in it.
After a worldwide containment breach in 2020, Benjamin Kondraki was targeted by Dr. Alto Clef on the orders of O5-12 Troy Lament in order to satisfy the Bloom's activation procedures. Clef discovered Kondraki's location after obtaining it from Gears, who he had killed earlier. He followed the parody of "Shia LaBeouf," before being ambushed by Kondraki, who took his shotgun. Shortly after, Kondraki realized it was Clef, and the two had a long conversation about Kondraki's faked death, his plan to "out-stupid" Lament, and Kondraki's realization that the world was ending. Afterward, the two agreed to duel at dawn, with Kondraki being more accepting of death from Clef rather than Lament.
In the short duel, Clef immediately blasted Kondraki in the chest with the shotgun. In his final moments, he realized that they could have been real people, but the SCP Foundation made people like him "legends," then threw them away after their purposes were served. Kondraki finally admitted that he cared about Clef, before dying at peace. Clef then burned Kondraki's body with gasoline.[11]
REDTAPE[]
Personality[]
Ambitious, dramatic, succinct, gruff, paranoid, chaotic, anti-social, spiteful, and not a fan of lab coats, Kondraki is a very polarizing figure due to his dramatic antics and disregard for the lives of personnel. This cacophony of traits made him many enemies during his time in the SCP Foundation, including Dr. Alto Clef. He developed a habit of causing collateral damage during tense situations. This ultimately culminated in Kondraki riding SCP-682 during the termination of SCP-083-D, which convinced the upper echelons that Kondraki was far too dangerous.

Trivia[]
- The creator and namesake of Kondraki, Dr Kondraki, was banned from the SCP Wiki for abusing his administrator powers. He later apologized and was unbanned, though has not written or commented on any Wikidot article since 2013.[12]
