Dr. Elias Blake Shaw is a highly eccentric researcher working under the SCP Foundation's Administrative Department. Due to being bound to SCP-0963, Shaw is essentially immortal and can take over the body of whoever touches the pendant. However, instead of being classed as another SCP, Shaw's usefulness has allowed him to keep working for the Foundation.[1]

In 2000, Governor George W. Bush was rendered brain-dead after a serious hunting accident; this accident was kept out of the news. He was lined up to be the Republican Party candidate for the 2000 presidential election; as Vice President Al Gore was possessed by SCP-4444, it was critical that Bush won the election. In lieu of Bush's functional death, Shaw was tasked with taking over Bush's empty body and winning the election.
The damaged sections of Bush's brain were restored, allowing Shaw to take over his body. He later filed an expletive-filled complaint to the Department of Personnel Resources, complaining about the situation and Bush's body. At a September debate, Shaw and planted Foundation agent Calloway showed falsified photo evidence of Gore participating in homosexual activities with President Bill Clinton. 4444 became angry and fled the scene utilizing its anomalous abilities.
Shaw was later disciplined by the Ethics Committee for his actions. After meeting with a Disciplinary Committee, Shaw agreed to the strict terms of the October debates. After a very close election, Shaw won after Florida's votes were too close to call. He served as President for two terms, seemingly retiring to Texas.[2]
Personality
According to his author, Elias Shaw is a "bad idea guy [more] than anything." He repeatedly contends with his immortality, spiraling Shaw into depression due to the fact that he can never die. Shaw's coping mechanism can come across as unhinged, though he does not intend to be malicious.[6]
He despised being chosen to be George W. Bush during the 2000 United States presidential election, writing an expletive-filled complaint to the Department of Personnel Resources in frustration and anger at the situation.

- Elias Shaw is a renamed and reimagined version of Dr. Jack Bright, having replaced Bright in several tales and SCPs due to the highly inappropriate actions of AdminBright, Bright's creator and namesake, in the past.
