Dr. Everett Mann is a physician working for the SCP Foundation's Medical Department. Currently, Mann holds the security clearance of Level 2 and the rank of Medical Researcher.

Biography[]

Early life[]

Everett Mann was born to a family of German heritage, eventually being taken in by his uncle, only known as Mann. Though his uncle was an unconventional medical researcher, he took his nephew under his wing to become heir to his position. Mann had Everett assist him with unethical experiments upon the poor, while disguised as a health clinic. Local police eventually discovered this, throwing Mann into prison, where he would eventually die.[1]

Everett entered foster care, moving from house to house while being bullied by the children there. Eventually, they stopped bothering him because he began to worry them. Though he tried to blend in, it never truly worked. At 18, he received a large inheritance from his uncle, which enabled him to attend an unidentified university.[1]

Dr. Mann[]

Everett eventually committed an act that would throw him out of school, though the university granted him a diploma in an out-of-court settlement. He then began working on post-graduate necessities. When he eventually received his doctorate, Everett became a name in the field of neurosurgery, though he was known as a troubled man. Dr. Mann was eventually contacted by the SCP Foundation in the guise of a publishing house; this was so they could obtain documents that his uncle had in his possession.[1]

Mann gave them permission to search his uncle's storage unit, where they disturbed something that injured himself and an agent. Mann effectively used the equipment in the room to save himself and the agent despite some side effects. After this incident, Mann was recruited by the Foundation into the Medical Department.[1]

Mr. Lie[]

After Mr. Lie was interviewed by D-22841 he manipulated the D-Class and a researcher into giving Dr. Mann a letter in which Mr. Lie inscribed his convincing lies to manipulate Mann into conducting an unplanned interview with him. During the interview, after Mr. Lie told Mann of the existence of the Spiral Path,[5] he convinced the doctor to edit the file about him to make it look like he could only tell the truth and that he should be allowed to meet with Mr. Stripes. Mann did so, rewriting all of Mr. Lie's document on the database to make it appear like Mr. Lie was always telling the truth and that he was allowed to leave his cell and talk to Mr. Stripes before putting a protection on it by locking the document and not allowing anyone else to do further edits on it. This later allowed Mr. Lie to use Mr. Stripes' properties to make himself appear like another member of the personnel and have some control on the site he was held in.[6]

Yesterday[]

In the aftermath of a worldwide containment breach in 2020, Dr. Alto Clef was tasked with the assassination of many key SCP Foundation personnel by O5-12 Troy Lament. Dr. Everett Mann was one of many named on the list; Clef indirectly killed him by convincing Mann to conduct a very dangerous experiment that cost the doctor his life.

Resurrection[]

During Researcher Zyn Kiryu's early years with the SCP Foundation, Mann approached her in the Site-19 Biological Anomaly Lab while Kiryu was handling a caustic substance in a syringe. He informed her that Kiryu's former interns were doing an excellent job, before ordering her to head up to his lab in one hour, freshly scrubbed in, as he would be dissecting brains that day; particularly, one of a reality bender. He then served as her supervisor for six months, where Kiryu served as his lab assistant. She assisted him in scribbling down what he said during his excited phases, showing a fascination with anomalous cadavers.

Mann eventually gave Kiryu permission for a pet project, which she eagerly began working on for the next two years.[7]

The Throne of God[]

At some point, Mann was promoted to a position in the O5 Council. Eventually, he was selected by Administrator Fritz Williams to assume his mantle, which Mann initially accepted before ultimately rejecting the promotion. This caused the SCP Foundation to slowly dissolve, as the Administrator was innately linked to the Foundation, and they could not exist without one another. Williams and Mann sat and discussed their wishes until they ultimately faded from existence with the rest of the organization.[3]
