Dr. Judith Low (4 January 1967-) is an American linguist and historian who serves as the foremost expert on the Late Bronze Age collapse and the anomalous religion of Sarkicism.
She is affiliated with the SCP Foundation, serving as a senior advisor at the Department of History; specifically, at their Religious GOI Threat Analysis branch. Low is also the director of the Kelipat Nogah Initiative, a task force designed specifically to prevent the return of Grand Karcist Ion.
Biography[]
Early life[]
Judith Low was born on January 4, 1967, in the United States. She eventually attended the University of California, Berkeley, being marked for membership into the SCP Foundation in her undergraduate years. This was after repeatedly running into information barriers regarding the Late Bronze Age collapse that were put up by the Foundation due to the anomalous truth of the event.[1]
Foundation career[]
Recruitment[]
Despite this, Low continued her research until her recruitment by Dr. Takeshi Nakada into the Foundation's Department of History as a Level 1 historical researcher. She graduated UC Berkeley with a BA in Religion, continuing to work on her Master's in World History and Linguistics while working for the Foundation.
During this time, Low compared the academic history of the world with the true history kept hidden from academic and public knowledge by the Foundation. Low presumably learned Russian and Daco-Romanian, among other languages, during her time in college.[1]
Graduation[]
Low eventually received her Master's degrees, before attending and graduating from the University of Oxford with a Ph.D. in History; this allowed Low to work for the SCP Foundation full time.[1]
SCP-2191[]
In 1977[2], Dr. Low was sent to Romania to interview Draga Negrescu, a descendant of the Carpathian Solomonari and likely adherent to Sarkicism. There, she talked about SCP-2191, and it's origin, speaking of a mother who was the former concubine of Grand Karcist Ion before being planted into her current location beneath 2191.[3]
Visiting Site-91[]
In early July of 1993, Low arrived to Xenobiological Research and Containment Site-91 for some reasons. Under Dir. Iona Varga's recommendation, Rebekah Douglas went to Low to discuss what he occurred with her while within SCP-4712-B.[4]
SCP-2133[]
In June 1996, Low was sent to SCP-2133 in the Ural Mountains to interview instances of SCP-2133-1; specifically, Aristarkh and Anya. Aristarkh was interviewed on 14 June, where he explained his condition, his faith to the Proto-Sarkic Church of the Red Harvest, and the coming of Karcist Alka and her presence within the village.
Anya was interviewed a month later on 16 July. During the interview, Anya repeatedly told Low to leave, though she explained the purpose of the Church and the presence of Alka.[5]
SCP-2480[]
During or after 2000, Low was consulted regarding the statue in Bodfel Manor on coastal Massachusetts after the Foundation rendered SCP-2480 defunct. She deduced the statue to be that of Yaldabaoth; despite most Sarkic cults depicting Yaldabaoth as a maligned figure, Adytum's Wake seemed to worship it. She also believed that the individual who granted Simon Oswalt his carnomantic powers was actually a pretender instead of the real Ion.[6]
SCP-6810[]
Around the end of April, 2018, following interviews between Dr. Helen Bianchi and SCP-4453 regarding the subject of Dionysus, the Foundation discovered him teleporting throughout Europe and often attacking people. Low was tasked with compiling the historical accounts regarding Dionysus, who has since been given the designation of SCP-6810, to ascertain his exact origin and history. Analyzing various pieces of evidence, such as Dionysiaca, Mahabharata and some passages from SCP-140, which all dealt with the Third Occult War. From these accounts, Low became sure that the individual designated SCP-6810 is indeed the mythological Dionysus who started the Third Occult War.
She then proceeded to clear up the Department of Mythology and Folkloristics's previous assessment that SCP-2663 was Dionysus, by stating that 2663 may have influenced the belief of Dionysus. Low also came to the belief that events surrounding Dionysus in the Third Occult War has inspired the myth of Zagreus. With all of this research, Low still awaited Bianchi to gain more information from her interviews with 4453, though she was reluctant to take her claims at face value since if the legends were to be believed 4453 held distain to her stepchildren.[7]

- ↑ This date was mentioned in the SCP Wiki article for SCP-2191. This date, combined with Low's DoB given on In Memoria, Adytum's page, would imply Low was ten years old when she interviewed Draga Negrescu. It is very likely that this due to canon conflation as the SCP-2191 doesn't exist in In Memoria, Adytum canon.
