SCP-231-7 is a young American girl who was kidnapped by the Children of the Scarlet King alongside six other girls, eventually being made to bear the Scarlet King's children. She and the other girls were rescued by a police raid, though six of them were eventually acquired by the Foundation after Event-231-Alpha. 231-7 was subject to an extremely brutal procedure known as Procedure-110-Montauk every day, which prevented her child from being born.
After new information was discovered in Daevite tablets, 231-7 was allowed to give birth, from which SCP-999 was born. Soon after, she was released to her family with heavy amnestics.
Presumably born in the United States, 231-7 was eventually kidnapped by the Children of the Scarlet King before she reached puberty alongside six other young girls, being stored in a warehouse. The Children turned her into the avatar of A’habbat, the seventh bride of the Scarlet King. Soon after, 231-7 was impregnated with the King's child along with the rest of the girls. A police raid on the warehouse resulted in the recovery of the Seven Brides[4] as well as six of the Spears of the Scarlet King.[5]
Soon after, SCP-231-1 suffered from labor pains that resulted in the birth of her child, who would cause over one hundred casualties in Event-231-Alpha. The SCP Foundation soon took possession of the other six brides[4] and the Spears[5], experimenting on them all. Foundation personnel studied notebooks left at the warehouse, which eventually, and conveniently, formed the basis of Procedure-110-Montauk; 110-Montauk's purpose was to prevent a ████████████ Event, even if it was morally vile. The first six girls died either due to the experiments, from botched applications of 110-Montauk, or from the birth of their children.[4]
Containment[]
The seventh girl, the avatar of A'habbat, was the only survivor from the four children, being contained at Site-██████. Procedure-110-Montauk is performed on her every day, as well as rounds of amnestics between the performances. An O5 Council member later issued a missive to Foundation personnel regarding 231-7, addressing some rumors and complaints.[4]
Dr. ████ reported to the O5 Council member about the fact that 231-7's emotional response was lessening, presenting either a new containment method to boost the response level or to use a Class-A amnestic during application of 110-Montauk. The O5 soon responded to use the amnestic, with Dr. ████ committing suicide shortly afterwards, Dr. ██████████ reporting this fact. ██████████ later stated that the amnestic did not have to be used every time the procedure is performed, instead every week at the peak of 231-7's emotional height.[4]
Decency[]
During her containment, a sympathetic agent by the name of Shields began to feel empathy for her, writing a note that he wasn't going insane but that he simply wants to show 231-7 that a single person cared for her. Shields entered her containment chamber, took his helmet off, and placed a rose on her bedside. Immediately after he left, Shields was shot to death by six guards, with 231-7's amnestic schedule being changed to forget this incident in a timely manner.[6]
New Job[]
At some point later, Foundation archaeologists discovered Daevite tablets that detailed the King and his Brides, and also explained that the Seventh Bride was unlike the others, birthing heroes and champions that would fight against their father and her sisters' children. With this information, the O5 Council held a vote to allow 231-7 to give birth at the risk of an XK-class End-of-the-World Scenario. The vote passed 7-6, though the 6 who voted against were more concerned of 110-Montauk not being viable in the long-term rather than empathy for the girl.[3]
231-7 was allowed to give birth, and SCP-999 was the result. Though in retrospect it seemed preposterous that such a kind, gentle creature could be the offspring of the Scarlet King and the cause of his eventual downfall, it was the best hope against such a threat to humanity. 231-7 was soon freed afterwards, being given back to her family who were all given Class F amnestics, relocated to a town over 1000 km away from the nearest report of the Children, and given new identities. A seven figure payout was also granted, in a subtle apology for the atrocities that were committed upon their daughter; this was at the insistence of the Ethics Committee.[3]
Despite her no longer being in Foundation custody, 110-Montauk is still seemingly being applied according to outsiders, which was the result of a disinformation campaign so the Children and their master did not know that 999 was born.[3]
Personality[]
Little is known of her personality, due to her being under nearly constant torture to stave off the child she bears.
Anomalous properties[]
231-7 herself does not possess any anomalous properties, other than her ability to bear the seed of the Scarlet King; this was due to a ritual that turned her into the avatar of A'habbat.[4] After the birth of SCP-999, she was deemed non-anomalous and released to her family with heavy amnestics to forget what occurred to her over the past few years.[3]
